I hopped a train to Philly recently, just in time to catch the end of the Van Gogh exhibit. What a lovely afternoon. The show was focused on the last 4 years of Van Gogh’s life and his up close view of nature. There were wheat fields, haystacks, almond blossoms, trees, gardens and of course his famous sunflowers. I had to sneak back around to the start of the show to view the sunflowers again — the colors were so intoxicating in person! Luckily, this painting is part of the permanent collection at the Philadelphia Museum of Art so do go catch the breathtaking golds, ambers and turquoises in person if ever you are in the neighborhood.
