Today’s Contender: Smitten Ice Cream

If you’re looking for a modern ice cream experience then Smitten Ice Cream may just be for you. Each serving is individually made — yes, made from scratch using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and liquid nitrogen for a 60 second start to finish mist filled extravaganza culminating in a super creamy scoop of ice cream. Something about the super cold temperature and fast freezing time, makes for smaller ice crystals and therefore a creamier base. That much is true but I would recommend staying away from mix-ins that freeze super solid at -320 degrees Fahrenheit. The dates in my Sticky Toffee Pudding were a threat to my fillings. The ice cream, however, was delicious.
